Underwrite a Film for $1,000

illuminAid conducts workshops for charitable organizations to train their staff to produce and disseminate video, with the goal of integrating video into all of their regular outreach and education efforts. 

During the workshops, enthusiasm is high. Our partner charities firmly believe in the power of video to educate, enlighten and inspire. But incorporating a new production system into a bureaucracy can be an unwieldy process. Financial backing for the films incentivizes continuation. That’s why our Film Underwriting Program is so important.

As a film underwriter, you’re providing three important things:

• Resources - There are often unanticipated expenses involved in creating a new production system, from upgrading an editing computer to setting up a new workstation to allocating additional personnel time to plan and organize the production. We know from experience that even a small unbudgeted expense can sideline a fledgling new initiative. Having access to additional funds during the creation of the first films can determine the future of the partner’s video integration efforts.

• Incentive - Along with your generous donation, comes a specific timeline. By underwriting our partner charity’s first film, you elevate it from “a great idea that we’ll get to when we aren’t so busy” to an active project with hard deadlines.

• Inspiration - Enthusiasm for the potential of video is always high during the workshops, but as time passes the charity’s decision-makers may lose focus and shift their priorities. By underwriting a film, you are reminding them that the belief in video as a unique and powerful agent for change is universal.

What happens when you underwrite a film:

1. illuminAid works with the partner to create an outline of the project and establish a schedule.

2. Your organization receives credit in the film itself and every time it is posted online.

3. The final film is featured on illuminAid’s website as well as additional illuminAid promotional efforts.
