CARE - Malawi
In October 2018, illuminAid partnered with CARE International in Malawi to conduct a Video Education Workshop (VEW) that empowered CARE staff with comprehensive training in video production. This training encompassed all essential aspects, including video planning, shooting, editing, and dissemination. The workshop aimed to leverage the power of video to enhance educational outreach and community engagement.
During the workshop, teams produced impactful videos focusing on maternal health, breastfeeding and infant nutrition, and sanitation and hygiene (WASH). The video content was specifically tailored to the needs of rural, off-grid villages near Salima. To overcome the challenges posed by the lack of electricity in these areas, the project utilized cordless, battery-powered projectors. These portable projectors enabled the seamless sharing of educational content, ensuring that crucial health and nutrition information reached the target communities effectively.
The collaboration between illuminAid and CARE International not only equipped staff with valuable video production skills but also facilitated the creation and dissemination of vital educational materials, fostering improved health outcomes in underserved regions.
