What are we talking about when we use all of these abbreviations? One Mobile Projector Per Trainer (OMPT) is a nonprofit non-government organization (NGO) that works with other International Organizations (IOs) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) on projects that promote information and communication technologies for development (ICT4D).

Back in 2017 OMPT partnered with The Foundation For Tomorrow in Tanzania to deliver a teacher training project . One of the participating members from The Foundation For Tomorrow, Noah Kayanda, was recently interviewed about the impact of the workshop. Read the full interview here!

Two of our most successful projects to date! Matt and Kristin spent two weeks in back-to-back Video Education Workshops, first in Ethiopia and then in Kenya.

Ethiopia is one of the world's least developed countries and has encountered food insecurity for its population routinely. The government and numerous NGOs have attempted to eradicate hunger through government programs and land cultivation. In July 2019, OMPT is teaming up with Arba Minch University in southern Ethiopia to teach Ph.D. students how to create videos aimed at improving mother and infant nutrition.

OMPT has sent two of our members to Ethiopia to conduct a workshop working with rural communities. We are excited to be in this vibrant country that has so much to offer in the way of culture and diversity. With that said, we decided to share some interesting details about Ethiopia. This will be a two part series, enjoy.

The ongoing developments in Sudan have made it a priority target for OMPT’s intervention. We will be training NGO staff and trainers from Sudan, so that they can then take this knowledge back to their home countries and empower them to make a difference in their communities. We are excited to announce that we have brought on two new program interns that will be helping with tasks from research to project planning and everything in between. John Acevedo and Nadia Torkman are already hard at work here at OMPT. Both well-versed in international relations, they bring a lot to the table and will serve important roles here.
