SBCC Summit: illuminAid networks with valuable prospective partners

During a customary year for illuminAid, we conduct plenty of international partnerships with NGOs and ministries of government all over the world. Our travels take us far and wide — usually for our specific programming. However, illuminAid is proud to reveal that we recently participated in this year’s SBCC Summit in Marrakesh, Morocco, from December 5th to 8th.

The SBCC Summit is a biannual gathering of organizations dedicated to leveraging technology to catalyze social behavior change among underserved populations in low and middle-income countries worldwide. Large and well-known organizations such as USAID, Save the Children, FHI 360 and many more were present. illuminAid was proud to attend and showcase the extensive behavior change programming we conduct via community-led video education workshops with solar-powered technology.

While there, we made sure to network with as many potential future program partners as possible. NGOs and ministries of government with a wide variety of program goals were present, and many were intrigued with the technology and information we had available at our booth. We were able to demo the equipment we provide to our partners and discuss details for how to partner in the years ahead.

Future video education workshops can manifest on topics such as social cohesion, epidemic preparedness, science translation and so much more. Events like the SBCC Summit don’t happen very frequently, and yet these are the kind of gatherings where illuminAid can conduct its best networking. The smörgåsbord of prospective program partners is too much to resist.

To top it all off, the event was held in a wonderful setting. Morocco has a fabulous culture, and it was electrified by their significant World Cup victory while we were there. The streets were in a frenzy that night, and that catapulted our excitement for wanting to maximize our experience and achieve the best productivity possible in this rare yet spectacular opportunity to prepare programming for the years ahead. illuminAid is stoked to participate in future summits worldwide like these when they next occur.
