illuminAid fundraiser recap - enjoying community once again
On February 19, 2022, illuminAid broke out of its fundraising and community activity slumber to host a lovely event with friends of the organization in San Francisco! We held an event in Noe Valley in San Francisco to meet new people, cultivate relationships with new potential supporters, and enjoy community again with people at an in-person gathering (safely, given the pandemic). We even conducted a brief video presentation of the work we do on catalyzing knowledge dissemination in the developing world via solar-powered and battery-operated video technology. It was a wondrous affair overall!
We enjoyed decent turnout and expect similar events to expand in scope and reach as we continue to (hopefully) inch our way towards the end of this pandemic. We would personally like to thank Vinona Bhatia for hosting the event at her lovely home, Ketcham Estate Winery for providing some exquisite wine, and Simileoluwa Adebajo of Eko Kitchen for catering scrumptious Nigerian food. Also, thank you to everyone who attended the event to learn about our cause and (finally) enjoy some in-person camaraderie!
Future events will be diverse and be hosted in a multitude of different locations. We plan to conduct more gatherings in Chico, the Bay Area, and even potentially around the country where we have supporters of our global cause. Please stay tuned for more information in the forthcoming months. We absolutely hope to see you at a future event!
